LBC Named "Best Christian Workplace" Again
With all of the anonymous electronic surveys having been completed, compiled, reviewed, and tallied, it’s official: Lancaster Bible College has again been certified as a “Best Christian Workplace” for 2014—having also made the list in 2011—by the Best Christian Workplaces Institute.
The vision of BCWI is to see Christian workplaces “set the standard as the best, most effective places to work in the world.” The organization serves faith-based organizations by creating processes of discovery, facilitating organizational effectiveness, and encouraging practices that build flourishing workplaces.
“We believe Christian workplaces should set the standard as the best most effective workplaces in the world. As you know, it takes intentional effort to create a healthy, even flourishing workplace culture,” said Al Lopis, president of BCWI. “Integrity, transparency, compassion, and trust are characteristics people long for in their relationships with others and from their leaders.”Dr. Peter W. Teague, President of Lancaster Bible College, announced the Best Christian Workplace certification to all LBC employees in a staff meeting held the week after the new Teague Learning Commons suffered extensive water damage due to a burst pipe. Dr. Teague remarked: “It is indeed remarkable that we were certified a Best Christian Workplace, and it is even more remarkable that our team has demonstrated how true that is—not by how we responded to a survey but by your actions this week in response to the TLC crisis.”
“To receive such positive feedback from your staff causes us to believe that the flock God has entrusted to you is well cared for,” Lopis noted in his letter to LBC. “We want to encourage you and all your team to press on.”
