Lancaster Bible College is seeking an adjunct professor to teach the introductory college-level Digital Photography course for the 2013-14 academic year. This course is housed in the Communication: Media Writing major of the Arts & Sciences Department.
This course will investigate the various functions and uses of the digital camera. Basic digital photography skills and computer editing applications will be introduced. Analysis, through a biblical worldview, of photographic esthetics as an art form and as means of self-expression/self-examination will be approached through a critiquing process. In addition, students will be introduced to the business management side of operating either a professional studio or pursuing a freelance photography career.
Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to present additional Communication elective course ideas for consideration (commensurate with their professional experience).
Candidates will meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of a BFA Photography or a BA in a related field is required
- A MFA in Photography or an MA in a related field is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in photography is required (preference given to commercial and/or journalistic photography experience)
- Higher education teaching experience is preferred
Preference is given to those who can teach between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm.
