Be Alive: John 1-12

EBS 153 - John writes his Gospel account and refers to himself as; “the one who Jesus Loved.” He saw Jesus as a man who was also God incarnate, susceptible to sickness, human emotions, and death, just like us. John, inspired by the Holy Spirit, writes this Gospel, often referred to as “the Gospel of Love”, to present Jesus Christ as the only source of eternal life. He reminds us that Love, God’s Love, was His motive for voluntarily limiting Himself to time and space. Through signs and miracles that Jesus performed by John’s firsthand account, we will see how Jesus confirms that He is the “Bread of Life” to a dark world, the gate, the resurrection, the vine, the way, the truth, and the life.

John reminds us that these things “are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John 20:31.

During session 1 of 2 we will study chapters 1-12 using the Warren Wiersbe commentary “Be Alive”.

Be Skillful: Proverbs

EBS 119 – Be Skillful: Proverbs

A study of an Old Testament book which stresses the importance of Godly wisdom. These proverbs provide God’s details on how to live a life which is pleasing to Him and will assist the reader in practical daily living. Godly wisdom will keep the obedient individual from the snares of an unwise and ungodly lifestyle. These words of wisdom give straightforward, no-nonsense instruction to those who want to obey God for living a life which pleases him and provides daily benefit to each person who follows them. The wisdom spoken in the proverbs is totally different from the “wisdom of the world.”
