Operation Christmas Child

On Thursday, November 15, over 70 students from Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School gathered to wrap 83 shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, and personal items to send to children around the world for whom this may be the only Christmas present they have ever received.

Led by Emma Rucci, a freshman Music major from Long Island, NY, these students sacrificed their time, energy and cash to make the difference in the lives of under privileged children. Last year, Rucci, a veteran Operation Christmas Child volunteer who has been sending boxes with her family for 8 years, was able to accompany Samaritan’s Purse to Belize where she assisted in handing out hundreds of boxes to needy children in several villages. They also set up free medical clinics and held youth rallies in each area bringing joy and hope to children in remote areas.

As part of the learning experience, Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School encourages students to get engaged in service projects such as Operation Christmas Child. LBC students volunteer nearly 45,000 hours of service to churches, missions and non-profit organizations each year.
