Biblical Division
One of the distinctives of Lancaster Bible College has been the establishment of Bible as the required major. In order to implement this distinctive and to provide an appropriate curriculum, the Division of Biblical Education serves to fulfill the following threefold purpose and goal, with the principle given first, then the desired objective:
- Principle: First, a foundational knowledge of the Bible is indispensable to the development of a biblical world view and the performance of Christian ministry.
Objective: Thus, the student shall acquire a basic understanding of the unique harmony of the Bible, of certain pivotal books, of essential Bible doctrine, and of opposing world views.
- Principle: Second, a developing knowledge of the Bible through independent research is essential to an expanding biblical world view and a developing Christian ministry.
Objective: Thus, the student shall be able to interpret the Bible, correlate its truths, integrate these truths into life, and communicate them to the world.
- Principle: Third, an intimate knowledge of the Bible is essential to the appropriation of a biblical world view and the enrichment of Christian ministry.
Objective: Thus, the student shall love God, obey His Word, serve Him, and minister to others.
