Ministry Opportunities
This year’s team is unique in that it is a “Band of Brothers” Tour for men only. Fly into Brussels and out of Zurich. Then begin camping out, sleeping in tents from Normandy to Bastogne to Mauthausen to Berlin. You will retrace the liberators of World War 2 – this time with the liberating Gospel. This is “male-bonding” at its best – in “spiritual combat.”
Every Western Europe backpacking trip is unique. It is designed to stretch and challenge team members in a number of ways. It could very well be thought of as a "spiritual life and evangelism class" with the "classroom" being Western Europe.
Team members carry backpacks and ride trains. Each carrying world view surveys as well as Christian literature in 5 different languages. Euro-rail passes enable the team to travel throughout Europe without the need of reservations.
One of the "mottos" of the trip is "planned spontaneity" with the goal of learning flexibility and to grow in faith and trust in God.
Leader
Dr. Good has served at LBC for 28 years. Former soccer coach and Dean of men, he currently serves as the Chair of the Intercultural Studies Department as well as the Director of the HIS Ministry Team Program. He has personally led 51 different HIS Ministry Teams to 26 different countries. He has been the leader of the Western Europe trip all 11 times it has gone.
Skills/Qualifications Needed
This trip is open to those entering their junior year in high school or older. Flexibility and a servant's heart with a desire to be stretched and grow in your relationship with God are a must.
