Why did you choose to attend LBC?
My father encouraged me to attend. At the end of July before last year, he brought it up again and gave me an application. God brought me here, because by all rights, I should not have been allowed here.
Outside of Athletics, what are your extra-curricular activities?
I thoroughly enjoy studying my Hebrew Bible. I also like reading (but it has to be the right kind of book), cooking, and lifting weights.
What does it take to be a student-athlete?
Being a student-athlete requires a lot of dedication to your sport in the off season, diligence in your academics, and most importantly dependence upon God to guide you through the daily struggles.
What has been the highlight of your athletic career here?
The highlight of my athletic career has been to hear that my team is bearing a good testimony for Christ. We had the opportunity to hear this from several teams this year and those lives impacted mean more than any amount of wins we could experience.
What is your most memorable experience in the classroom?
My most memorable experience in class might also be the most embarrassing. I began stretching in class, and at the peak of my stretch, the top six buttons on my button up shirt suddenly burst open. This resulted in much laughter from my classmates and much embarrassment to me.
What faculty or staff member has impacted your life the most and why?
There are two faculty members that have meant a great deal to me. First, Dr. Spender, who trained me in Hebrew studies for a year and a half. His dedication to my academic growth, for over one year of his personal time, is unsurpassed in my other experiences. The second faculty member to impact me is my life mentor, Dr. John Soden. He and I have talked of all aspects of life. I share struggles and he gives me Godly advice. I share answers to prayer and he praises God with me. This also is on his personal time. These two gentlemen have encouraged me and impacted me in ways I could never have foreseen.
