The Conestogans are just one of the traveling choral groups from Lancaster Bible College. They are a group of young people dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and set apart unto the ministry of glorifying His Matchless Name through sacred song. The Conestogans, under the direction of Rev. Dan Hollingsworth, along with the Handbell Choir, present approximately twenty-six concerts each year in churches throughout the eastern United States.
The Conestogans is a group with a purpose. The first desire of the members of the choir is that they “may know Him” (Philippians 3:10). No Christian ministry can be vital unless there is individual hunger for intimate fellowship and communion with the Head of the Body, Christ.
The choir strives to “keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3). Fellowship around God's Word, prayer, and meaningful interaction serve to build up and strengthen the group in order that it might be “prepared unto every good work” (2 Timothy 2:21). Finally, the choir’s purpose is to minister—through their lives, through their words, and through their music. They desire to share Christ whom they worship and adore. Their program of sacred music includes semi-classical selections, hymn arrangements, and gospel songs, as well as scripture verses and testimonies from choir members.
Typical arrangements that the Conestogans make with churches or organizations include:
