Academic Mentoring Services

The Academic Mentoring Services (AMS) Center is LBC's academic support center. Peer tutors and professional personnel provide review of class material, assistance with major projects, and organization of study/work/personal time, test-taking skills, and study strategies. Also available are free note cards and semester calendars for plotting out assignments, projects, and exams. All services are free to any enrolled student.

Location and Times

  • The AMS Center is located on the fifth level of the Student Learning Commons.
  • Monday-Thursday: 8 AM-5 pm AND 6-8 pm
  • Friday: 8 am-3 pm

Tutoring

Students may sign up for semester-long weekly appointments, make appointments as needed, and participate in formal, mentor-led study groups for specific courses. Appointments can be scheduled by stopping by, calling the center, or sending an email.
