Mental Health Counseling
Mission
With the Mental Health Counseling major, students will become critically aware of issues regarding mental health, starting with an examination of their own personal experiences and expectations. Beyond making sense of their own history, students will build their knowledge and skill for professional counseling work through a Bachelor of Science in Bible/Master of Arts major (5-year track). Instructional elements include assessment protocols, theory of personality and therapeutic interventions for the individual.
Outcomes
When you finish this major, you will earn combined BSB and MA degrees. In addition, you will be prepared for certification through the National Board of Certified Counselors and eventually licensure as a licensed professional counselor.
