The Professional Counseling major will prepare students with the knowledge, learned skills, and practical training that is foundational for counseling ministry, focusing on the need for personal change at the heart level over simply behavioral, cognitive, or affective change. In addition, students will gain an understanding about the effects of sin that affect mental health and how to approach treatment to educate the whole person from a biblical worldview.
When you have completed this program of study, you will earn a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Professional Counseling and Biblical Studies as well as a Master of Arts degree. You will be able to find opportunities in the human services field or work as a professional resource to the local church. You will also be prepared to continue with graduate education.
