Middle Level Education
The Middle Level Education majors train students from a philosophical base which reflects a biblical worldview, to serve the community as teachers in public and private schools in fourth through eighth grades in four content specialties: mathematics, language arts, science and social studies.
When you have completed this program of study, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in Education as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. The students who complete this program will have the knowledge of the characteristics and strategies necessary for the effective instruction in a middle school classroom, whether a self-contained or subject centered classroom. They will have the option of broad content selections (focus areas) or concentrations in one of the four areas of mathematics, language arts, science or social studies. The biblical foundation for thinking and teaching will give this graduate an understanding of current trends and programs for middle schools in the 21st century.
