With the Mental Health Counseling concentration, students will become critically aware of issues regarding mental health, starting with an examination of their own personal experiences and expectations. Beyond making sense of their own history, students will build their knowledge and skill for professional counseling work through a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts major (5-year track). Instructional elements include assessment protocols, theory of personality and therapeutic interventions for the individual.
When you finish this program of study, you will earn a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Professional Counseling and Biblical Studies as well as a Master of Arts degree. In addition, you will be prepared for certification through the National Board of Certified Counselors and eventually licensure as a licensed professional counselor.
