Music Performance

Mission

LBC’s Music Performance major is designed to facilitate a high level of artistic training that, paired with students’ biblical and worship studies, will produce cross-cultural leaders uniquely prepared to serve as salt and light within the world of the performing arts, and to serve the local body with their gifts and talents.

Music Performance majors can choose an emphasis in:

  • Vocal
  • Instrumental
  • Music Composition
  • Musical Theatre
  • Music Pedagogy

Outcomes

This major will prepare you for a professional performing arts career in secular and sacred music, musical production, composition, commercial music, and musical theatre. Since this major meets national music performance standards, you could also pursue a graduate conservatory degree.

The Music Pedagogy emphasis prepares you to establish a small music business, such as a studio or academy, as well as giving you the proper undergraduate work for future studies in preparation to become a college or university professor.

Minor Available

Students enrolled in other departments may elect to minor in music performance. The minor is designed to give the student basic musical knowledge and professional skills as a complement to another field of study, thus enhancing their ability to serve as salt and light within their professional career.

Following graduation, you will be able to enhance your professional resume with the inclusion of this minor. The minor also allows you to more thoroughly enjoy your God-given artistic abilities and use those abilities in ministry.
