International Students Admissions Process

Lancaster Bible College welcomes international students and values global diversity and cultural perspective these students add to our campus and community. The process for international study can be complicated; therefore we seek to simplify the process and guide you along the way. Below is an overview of the steps necessary to apply to LBC as an international student. Our admissions staff is always available and willing to answer any questions you may have.

In order for you to be considered for admission to LBC you must:

Step 1: Complete an application

You can choose to complete the online form or the printable form. Our admissions staff will then be in contact with you to help guide you through the rest of the process.

Step 2: Provide satisfactory academic history, references, and test scores, including:

  • Proof of an education background equivalent to an American high school education.
  • Unaltered copy of your academic credentials showing successful completion of your country’s high school educational requirements.
  • Academic credentials from any university or colleges attended after completion of high school.
  • Application for International Student Financial Aid sheet. INS regulations require that international students prove that they have the funds to cover their education expenses.
  • Two letters of reference. One must be from a pastor and the other may be either an academic or employer reference.
  • Satisfactory Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores. Minimum scores are as follows: 69 for internet-based, 193 for computer-based, and 523 for paper-based.
  • Satisfactory SAT or ACT scores. This is optional but can be used for placement and scholarship.
  • Autobiography.

Step 3: Provide sufficient funds to cover your first year of education

After our review of this information, and if everything is acceptable, we will grant you Provisional Acceptance. Following your Provisional Acceptance, you will need to send to LBC sufficient money to cover your first year of education. These funds will be held in escrow and will be returned to you immediately should you be unable to attend.

After receiving the funds for your first year of education, we will grant you Final Acceptance and send you the I-20 form. This form provides the government with the information necessary to issue a visa for you.
