Job Description:

This position exists for the purpose of teaching undergraduate level courses in the area of Communication and, more specifically, in integrated digital marketing, supervising marketing internship opportunities, and for the purpose of advising Communication students who take the Integrated Digital Marketing concentration and share in the advising of general Communication majors.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of an MA in Communication, Marketing, or related field; PhD is preferred
  • Relevant professional experience in both business and non-profit marketing environments
  • Commitment to innovation and leadership in digital marketing, social media and developing communication approaches
  • A minimum of 2 years of higher educational teaching experience
  • Experience in the field of Communication and, more specifically, in digital marketing
  • A demonstrated ability to coordinate and assess team projects
  • A positive reputation as a scholar and educator
  • A well-articulated philosophy of professional Christian communication

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

  • An ability to relate to undergraduates and to help them develop information literacy, marketing research skills, compelling client-focused writing, and public speaking skills through the lens of a biblical worldview
  • An ability to work with colleagues on corporate projects
  • An ability to coordinate additional marketing/communication adjuncts
  • Proficiency as a communicator in written and oral formats
  • Proficiency with general computer skills
  • An ability to design instruction
  • An ability to develop new courses
  • An ability to assess the overall success of courses
  • A desire to mentor students outside the classroom

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Teach Marketing/Communication courses
  • Academically advise Communication majors, particularly those in the Integrated Digital Marketing concentration
  • Required full-time teaching load is 4/4 (12 credits fall semester, 12 credits spring semester)
  • Coordinate the schedules of Integrated Digital Marketing adjuncts and assist the Communication director in assessing the syllabi and classroom teaching of these adjuncts
  • Complete assessment documentation for Marketing/Communication courses each year
  • Participate in Arts and Sciences department meetings and activities
  • Participate on assigned faculty committee(s)
  • Maintain at least 10 office hours weekly for student and faculty consultation and support
