Part-time Department Assistant Church and Ministry Leadership

Part-time, Hourly

Location: Lancaster, PA

 

This position exists for the purposes of providing leadership, administrative support, organizational assistance, and systems creation/management for the Church and Ministry Leadership Department.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative support
  • Prefer 5 years’ experience in administrative support
  • Demonstrated experience in a professional, multitask environment
  • Some experience in a non-profit higher education environment a plus
  • Ability to connect with and relate to local and regional ministry leaders

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

  • The ability to maturely and creatively assist in creating a culture of professional advancement
  • The ability to work in a team context within the Department of Church & Ministry Leadership
  • Computer proficiency required in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other design oriented programs a plus
  • Prefer experience in CampusVue and eCampus
  • Typing skills 55 wpm
  • Office machinery operations
  • Multi-line phone experience
  • Strong editing and proofing skills
  • Self-starter, detailed-oriented, and able to handle confidential matters
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Basic departmental budgeting and administration
  • Proficient in social media
  • Proficient in Canvas

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Provide administration and systems to undergraduate Internship and Practicum notebooks
  • Provide support to CML/PDN events, conferences, and internal/external social settings
  • Collaborate with all CML Directors of programs in securing textbook orders and exam copies
  • Manage and execute communication schedule for PDN
  • In conjunction with the Director of MACPM, communicate with African students and sponsors in the United States
  • Populate and manage brochures and student bio cards for PDN
  • Assist in editing, writing, and communication updates for PDN
  • Update and maintain the constant contact systems solution
  • Interface with advancement/Manage gifts and donor base
  • Learn secondary functions and procedures as a back up to the primary Department Assistant
  • Be in consistent weekly contact with the Director of the MACPM
  • Other various general administrative duties as needed
  • Oversee and manage the MACPM sponsorship program
  • Participate in cultivating and recruiting new PDN partners
  • Travel to Uganda once in a three-year cycle for collaboration and first-hand experience with MACPM students
