Job Description:

The Director of Alumni is responsible for providing leadership to the Office of Alumni Relations, which offers services, programs, events, and communications to Lancaster Bible College and Capital Seminary and Graduate School.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required; graduate of Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School preferred
  • A documented pattern of successful, relevant professional experiences in a growth-oriented environment

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written and public speaking communication skills
  • An understanding and commitment to the distinctiveness of a Bible College
  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial self-starter who is motivated by mastery
  • An ability to work collaboratively, courteously, and effectively with colleagues throughout the institution and volunteers from various constituencies
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement, and build constituency programs and activities
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and ethical standards with confidential information
  • Adaptable to new technology, use of database applications, and reporting including Raiser’s edge software, a Blackbaud platform. (experience a plus)
  • Flexibility to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Create opportunities for alumni to support their alma mater through service, leadership, advocacy, and philanthropy. Increase support from alumni by 10% per annum
  • Lead, plan, implement, coordinate and promote alumni-relevant events, programs, and services that support the institution’s strategic plan including but not limited to:
    • Heritage Week
    • Homecoming
    • Class reunions
    • Alumni-receptions on site/off-site
    • Recruitment initiatives (Each One Reach One)
  • Recruit, motivate, and sustain volunteers
  • Assist Admissions in communicating with prospective students and parents about services offered and the success of LBC graduates
  • Connect LBC alumni with current students for mentorship, internship, and potential career path
  • Develop and implement specific strategies and programs to increase alumni involvement (i.e. chapters)
  • Assist in seeking good-will opportunities for LBC alumni to gain exposure
  • Work with departments to connect alumni including an annual survey of alumni
  • Regular updates to connect alumni through social media platforms (i.e.: Twitter, Facebook, Link in, Instagram) to maximize engagement
  • Advocate for appropriate alumni interests and concerns
  • Participation on Echo magazine editorial board
  • Other duties as requested for the good of the college
