Director of Ministry Leadership Major (Online) & Women in Ministry Leadership

Full-time Faculty (9 month)

Location: Lancaster, PA


This position exists for the purposes of providing leadership, administration, teaching, and curation of the Ministry Leadership Degree (Online). It also provides oversight to the Women in Ministry Leadership Program.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • An earned graduate degree in church educational ministries, theology, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Ministry leadership experience in either a local church or parachurch setting. Identifiable experience in the areas of teaching, disciple-making, volunteer development, administration, and global ministry.
  • A positive reputation as a servant-leader, disciple maker, and communicator.
  • Three years of ministry experience in an educational environment is preferred.
  • A well-articulated philosophy of ministry leadership and educational development.
  • An ongoing commitment to growth as a reflective practitioner in the field of ministry leadership.

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

  • An ability to relate to traditional and non-traditional LBC students.
  • An ability to relate and work with local, regional and online leaders within the ministry leadership context.
  • An ability to mentor, communicate, advise, and provide counsel within the Ministry Leadership communities.
  • Willingness to contribute to the field of Ministry Leadership and Women in Ministry Leadership through writing, research, consulting, and developing educational material and online resources.
  • An ability to function as a team member with other faculty in the Department of Church and Ministry Leadership.
  • An ability to work with, support, and oversee assistant and adjunct professors within programs of leadership oversight.
  • Proficient as a communicator in written and oral formats.
  • Proficient as a teacher in both on-line and in-person learning environments.
  • Proficient in the practice of vision casting, recruiting, and nurturing accountability among members of the teaching teams.
  • A commitment to prayer is essential.
  • Proficiency with word processing, general computer skills, and LBC | Capital’s instructional technologies (i.e., Learning Management System, Video Conferencing, etc.)

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Teach courses as assigned at the undergraduate, adult education, and/or graduate level in face-to-face, blended, and online format which may require teaching during the day, evening, and/or weekend.
  • Oversee and administer all programming related to the Ministry Leadership degree and Women in Ministry Leadership program.
  • Meet with the Ministry Leadership and Women in Ministry Leadership Teaching Team regularly for the purpose of evaluation, encouragement, vision casting, and prayer.
  • Monitor outcomes assessment of students and graduates in programs of leadership oversight.
  • Academic advising of undergraduate students in programs of leadership oversight.
  • Facilitate spiritual and emotional development of students through advising, personal discipleship, and informal interaction at college events.
  • Active involvement in student recruitment and retention at both online and traditional undergraduate environments through partnership with Admissions and Marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental initiatives including core CML curriculum, team-taught courses, departmental retreats, etc.
  • Participation in departmental and regular faculty meetings.
  • Serve on various faculty committees as appointed.
  • Continue personal professional development through research, writing, and conference attendance.
  • Network locally and regionally with ministry leaders.
  • Be available for speaking engagements, leadership training, and spiritual formation equipping seminars sponsored by local ministries.
