Job Description:

This position exists to provide general administrative support and organizational assistance for the Student Life Department. This is a front desk position.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • High School diploma required, some college preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in administrative support preferred
  • Some administrative support experience in higher education a plus

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

  • Proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
  • Proficiency in various types of educational software platforms preferred
  • Experience with data management and record keeping
  • Detail oriented and able to work independently
  • Excellent telephone etiquette, interpersonal skills, and written communication abilities
  • Strong editing and proofing skills
  • Able to handle confidential matters

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Schedule and maintain appointment calendars and tasks in Outlook or other project management software
  • Participation in departmental meetings which includes typing minutes
  • Handle all departmental phone calls and walk-in visitor pleasantly and courteously
  • Represent Student Life in a positive and approachable manner
  • In collaboration with Student Life Staff, proofread and edit written materials for quality, readability and consistency
  • Assist students in setting appointments with Student Life Staff
  • Place orders for department supplies/equipment and track expenditures
  • Maintain organized filing systems

Assist in other duties whenever called upon as needed for the good and welfare of the total College ministry.
