Job Description:

This position exists for the purpose of enhancing our Community Scholarship Fund and related student scholarship activities.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in development
  • Demonstrated record of continuing education to stay abreast of changing development operations
  • Involvement in at least one professional association in one’s field of concentration

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

Administrative

  • Solve problems within the scope of the job function
  • Question and explore more efficient ways of accomplishing the job function
  • Develop ways in which the different areas of the giving program can be enhanced
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality in handling all matters

Technical

  • Supervision/management skills to carry out job functions and office employees
  • Budgeting skills for the preparation and submission of department budgets
  • Research skills to develop substantial gift support
  • Planning skills to develop a department plan
  • Communication skills - able to communicate to various groups
  • Analysis skills for analyzing giving trends
  • Awareness of applicable laws and regulations

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Director of a growing 7-figure Community Scholarship Fund with strategy and execution
  • Interface with Athletics Fund and The Trust Performing Arts Center as a consult
  • Interface with Capital region as a direct report
  • Participates in 8-figure capital campaigns
  • Plans appreciation functions
  • Leads and facilitates student phone bank
  • Attends Advancement Committee meetings
  • Helps plan the budget
  • Bimonthly reports to EVP and President
