Retail Services Coordinator

Job Description:

This position exists to coordinate the day to day operations and provides administrative support to the Retail Services Department.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Some experience in the secretarial field and bookstore or mail/copy center environment helpful
  • Ability to work an occasional Saturday during the Academic Year

Candidates will need to possess the following skills:

  • Basic computer proficiency including a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint; familiarity with Formstack, EdgeWeb and CampusVue preferred but not required
  • Basic budgeting and administrative duties
  • Problem-solving, flexibility, self-starter, detailed-oriented and able to handle confidential matters
  • A functional understanding of the concepts and operations of digital copying technology and mail services
  • A basic understanding of the college bookstore industry as it relates to textbooks and general merchandise
  • Spot problems at any point in the copying/mail process and bookstore operation and provide solutions for the problem with a minimum of supervision

Candidates will serve the organizational and administrative needs of the department under the supervision of the director in the following tasks:

  • Developing and maintaining a system that ensures the coordination of documents for the department
  • Handling general office duties such as filing, receiving phone calls and relaying messages
  • Assisting with scheduling and oversight of student workers along with delegating work assignments
  • Interact with walk-in visitors pleasantly and courteously
  • Assist to purchase textbooks, trade books and general merchandise
  • Tracking departmental spending with Excel and providing reports to the Business Office
  • Ordering office supplies for the department
  • Provide customer support and process transactions through the in-store and online POS systems.
  • Supporting the director in general tasks as needed
  • Attend necessary Retail Services staff meetings

Assist in other duties whenever called upon as needed for the good and welfare of the total College ministry.
