Jr. Systems Administrator

Full-time, Salary, Professional Staff

Location: Lancaster, PA


Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology systems. Assists in day-to-day operations of IT system infrastructure and any processes and documentation related to these systems. Provides escalated support on and off hours as it relates to job responsibilities.

Candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years as Help Desk Tech Support
  • 1-3 years’ of experience preferred in systems/server support; prior experience with server hardware, software and applications preferred
  • Proficient in Windows Server and Windows PC operating systems
  • Microsoft Technical Certifications, A+, CompTIA or similar certifications a plus

Candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assist with maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting VMware server infrastructure
  • Assist with server patch management in a Windows environment
  • Respond to escalated help desk calls from faculty, staff, and students, providing problem resolution via phone and email during business hours and some after-hours support
  • Provide basic domain functionality support with Active Directory & Azure Active Directory management
  • Monitor and maintain data center environment in conjunction with the IT Team
  • Basic VMware administration and architecture knowledge such as creating new servers, rebooting virtual machines, allocating necessary resources, creating templates, and managing snapshots.
  • Assist with daily backup and restore operations
  • Maintaining standards and documentation on an ongoing basis as products and technologies evolve
  • Assist with tasks relating to Office 365 (email) management
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring of Mitel VOIP, NetApp SAN, business continuity, cloud systems and other operational IT responsibilities as needed

Assist in other duties whenever called upon as needed for the good and welfare of the total College ministry.
