Part-time Events Setup Specialist

Job Title: Events Set-Up Specialist, Part-Time

Employee Type: Part-time Hourly Staff

(Work hours will usually be in the daytime but will sometimes include nighttime set-up or tear down work. Weekly hours will vary seasonally from a high of 30 to a low of 10.)

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for an hour without a break.
  • Able to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons.

Job Summary:

This position exists to assist the Events Director, the President’s Office, and other campus leaders in preparing for events with excellence that reflects well on the College.

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated computer experience and knowledgeable on the use of Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Respond in a timely manner to unplanned requirements.
  • Work well in stressful, time-pressured settings.
  • Work well with a wide range of personalities.
  • Demonstrate a customer-service orientation.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail.
  • Maintain LBC|Capital professional and lifestyle standards

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Frequent “sandwich board” outdoor sign preparation and placement.
  • Table, chair, and tablecloth set up with specific instruction.
  • Room set up in coordination with food vendor.
  • Post-event tear down and storage immediately after event or (if late at night) the next morning before 8:00.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
