LBC’s Prayer Requests
Jethro’s Organizational Excellence | Pray for LBC to have Jethro’s organizational excellence, with a culture that honors God and serves joyfully (Exodus 18:17-23).
Pray for the Board of Trustees, meeting in November, as they steward LBC’s mission to educate Christian students to think and live a biblical worldview and to proclaim Christ by serving Him in the Church and society.
Nehemiah’s Unity | Pray for the unity Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem exhibited when they were building the wall. Like Nehemiah and his cohort, pray that God helps us keep our eyes on Christ and on our students, and strengthens our hands for his good work (Nehemiah 4:6).
Pray for faculty and staff as they continue to carry out our Ready in Every Season Strategic Plan, focused on strengthening the foundation that will enable us to be the leader in collaborative, contextualized biblical higher education in the U.S. and around the world.
Sons of Issachar’s Discernment | Ask God for His wisdom as we continue to navigate the delightful challenges that come our way with the Sons of Issachar’s discernment as we prepare students to flourish in college and life, inside and outside the classroom, from the conviction that Christ is real and the Bible is true.
Pray for LBC’s Budget Managers as they seek to practice careful stewardship, maximizing and multiplying God’s resources for the glory of God and the good of our students.
Joseph’s Patience | Pray that, like Joseph, LBC students, staff, faculty, and administration will serve with patient faithfulness. The educational journey is long, the teaching journey is long, and the spiritual formation journey lasts a lifetime. Pray for daily dependence on the Lord throughout LBC as we teach, learn, and lead (Genesis 37-50).
Pray for our Global Student Success Team and Online Instructors as they work with students from across the country and around the world, preparing them to flourish in college and life, inside and outside the classroom, from the conviction that Christ is real and the Bible is true.
Paul’s Singlemindedness | The Apostle Paul was not so heavenly minded that he was no earthly good— he lived in “Today.” But Paul had his sights on “That day.” Pray for all of us at LBC to have Paul’s single-mindedness: that we would be very present in “this day,” but always working single-mindedly with “that day” in mind (Philippians 3:13-14).
Pray for the Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department, as they prepare for the 2025 Christmas Concert on December 5th and 6th. Pray that these concerts will mark a joyful start to the Christmas season for friends and neighbors of LBC as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, “for in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things” (Colossians 1:19-20).
Joshua’s Boldness | Four times in Joshua 1, God tells Joshua, “be strong and courageous.” Pray that God keeps all of us at LBC –Board & Corporation, President, Cabinet, Faculty, Staff, Donors, Pray-ers, Alumni, and Friends– as humble and bold as Joshua (Joshua 1:6,7,9,18).
Pray for our December Graduates, who are being sent out to proclaim Christ by serving Him in the church and society! Pray for wisdom, clarity, and courage for these new graduates as they discern their next steps.
The Leaders’ Blessing | Acts 15:28 says “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…” What we see in Acts is a beautiful picture of the recognition of God’s work and the blessing of the efforts of leaders to carry it out. Pray for the Lord’s continued direction and help, as well as the continued blessing from those who oversee our efforts as we carry out our mission (Acts 15:28).
Pray for LBC’s On-Campus Student Leaders, serving in Student Government, Student Activities, Residence Life, Foundations, Admissions, and other student organizations across campus. Pray that these students would be formed into faithful leaders as they invest in the LBC student experience.
