On May 3, 2018, Lancaster Bible College broke ground for the first phase of a new 93,100-square-foot turf field. The Donald H. Funk Field will serve as the new home of the college’s field sport athletic programs and is named in honor of Donald Funk, a longtime corporation member at LBC. This first phase is scheduled for completion this fall and will be dedicated at Homecoming on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Now, in late August, we’re seeing some serious progress. Some of the turf has been laid and we’re edging toward our September dedication.

But why does this top-of-the-line, premier synthetic playing surface matter to our students? We sat down with 2012 graduate Taylor Dooley, a former student athlete and now an associate developer at Under Armor, to talk about the importance of athletics in his life and why this projects matters.
