Lancaster Bible College is growing, and with that growth comes the need for innovative, mission-driven housing solutions. In response, LBC and Calvary Homes, an independent senior living community affiliated with Tandem Living, have partnered to create Charger Hall @Calvary — a Christ-centered student housing initiative that blends Christian community, independent living and intergenerational connection.
The exciting announcement on June 10, 2025, garnered local and regional media attention, as newspapers and television stations were eager to tell this unique story to the community.

FOX43, covering Harrisburg, York, Lancaster and Lebanon counties, was the first to feature the story on June 12 on both the 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. broadcasts as well as online.
Reporter Sydney Nauman interviewed LBC Dean of Student Experience Beth Kachel, LBC Student Caregiver and Calvary Homes resident Bob Reid and senior Sport Management student Crystal Lenk, who will be one of the first student residents in Charger Hall @Calvary.
Later in the day on June 12, Lancaster County’s local newspaper, LNP | LancasterOnline, ran the story online as well as in print on the front page on June 16. Reporter Chris Reber interviewed LBC Executive Vice President Jael Chambers, Executive Director of Calvary Homes and VP of Strategy & Technology for Tandem Living Dale Weaver and Reid.
On June 13, Central Penn Business Journal reporter Rochelle Shenk also shared her article online, quoting Chambers and Weaver.
Also that weekend, ABC 27 / WHTM news anchor Valerie Pritchett shared the news with viewers, while reporter Kaylee Lindenmuth’s story ran online.
Lastly, on Monday, July 7, LBC and Calvary Homes representatives visited the faith-based a.m. program “Morning Light” in Harrisburg to talk about Charger Hall @Calvary. Check out the segment beginning at 13:07 below!
