Lancaster Bible College’s Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department is thrilled to welcome Robert T. Gibson, MM, as the new Director of Choral Studies. Effective July 1, Gibson will lead various choirs and ensembles on campus as well as teach Aural Skills, Conducting and Choral Music Education, beginning in the 2025-26 academic year.

“We are excited about the dynamic perspective and vision Robert brings to the Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department,” said Rachel Sidebothom (’02), MME, Interim Department Chair. “His comprehensive expertise in choral music — spanning repertoire from the Baroque era to contemporary gospel — serves to complement and enrich the department’s established mission to prepare highly skilled artists to influence culture with grace and truth. We are confident that Robert will provide excellent musical and pedagogical leadership, fostering an environment in which students can grow both artistically and academically.”

A Houston native, Gibson is a conductor, clinician, composer/arranger, lecturer and educator who desires to develop future music educators for the next generation. His love and passion for music continues to leave lasting impressions on the students he encounters. Gibson received a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music at Missouri State University. He has held secondary, collegiate and church positions and has served as guest clinician in Texas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Tennessee and New York.
