Journey Teams: Houston (2)

October 20, 2017

Hello from Houston!

We are two days in to the ministry God has for us in Texas. So far, the work that we have done has been incredible and heartbreaking at the same time.

Yesterday, one of our groups began a project on an older couple's house. The house stayed vacant since the hurricane and the flood, so there was lots of molding and there was a visible water line about chest-high. We started off wearing full hazmat suits and masks because of the particles in the air, ripping out drywall and removing the remaining belongings and furniture from the house. Today, with a crew of about 30 people, we were able to complete the work on that house by gutting it completely. Also, we completed cosmetic work in other yards throughout the neighborhood. It was truly amazing to see God's hand in all of it.

"He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:4
