Journey Teams: Netherlands (2)

May 24, 2017

Greetings from the Netherlands!

Today was our first full work day here at the camp - but before work, you have to have some breakfast. Little did we know breakfast was going to be such an adventure! We woke up, got ready and when we arrived at breakfast there were maps for us to travel into the town on bikes to a café. This was fun experience for some of the team and a nerve-wracking experience for others – but we all made it there safely – with a little help from the locals.

After breakfast, we headed back to camp and starting working hard on multiple work projects for the camp. Some of the work projects included putting up a fence, cutting the grass, prepping the main house for painting, painting some of the cabins on site, removing old posts, sealing a new walkway and of course we shared some good laughs along the way! One thing is definitely true about this team – they know how to work hard.

This evening we had a wonderful dinner of tacos with pineapple (you HAVE to try this sometime) and then we got to meet some of the staff that work at the camp day in and day out. It was a blessing to hear their love for the Lord while also hearing of the many stories of Gods faithfulness. De Herikem is definitely blessed with an amazing group of both staff and volunteers.

We have been riding our bikes a lot these days and the team continues to get in a new rhythm of sleep and long , full days. We can’t express our gratefulness to each of the people who have been praying for us and supporting us along the way. We feel the prayers and your love. As long as we're talking about prayer, would you also pray for:

  • Strength for our team
  • Team unity
  • God’s protection

Thank you for partnering with us!
