Journey Teams: Netherlands (4)

May 25, 2017

Greetings from the Netherlands! Today is a national holiday where the Dutch people pause to remember Christ’s ascension into heaven 40 days after his resurrection. We had the opportunity to travel to a park called Heather where we took time to pause and remember Christ’s ministry in the book of Acts. Caleb led a time of worship together, Caleb and Josh’s grandfather shared from the book of Acts and then Joshua gave direction for a personal quiet time in this beautiful part of the country. It was a precious time to spend with the team worshiping our God and remembering what all Christ has done for us.

After this spiritually refreshing time, we spent the afternoon doing some team bonding activities. Later, we ate dinner as a team and were joined by some students who attended camp De Herikon while growing up. They shared with us stories of how the camp ministry changed there lives, and our team was deeply encouraged by the way God has used - and continues to use - the camp for His glory. We ended the night with building relationships with the students who came to visit us. Even as I right this post, our team is playing a lively game of soccer with our new Dutch friends.

Would you please continue to pray for these things:

  • A heart of compassion as tomorrow we will be ministering to a group of refugee children and playing sports with them.
  • Team unity - now that we have been around one another, we want to grow deeper in our relationship within the team.
  • Safety as we travel.
  • Opportunities to share the Gospel.
  • Continued good health and attitude of the team
