Keith Getty, the famed modern hymn writer known for songs like, “In Christ Alone,” and “By Faith,” received the insignia commemorating the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II on July 2, 2018. This was the first time in history that the award was given a person involved in contemporary church music.

Getty was given an honorary doctorate from Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School in May of 2011, where he was also the keynote speaker and performed the U.S. debut of his then new song, “Perfect Wisdom of Our God”, along with his wife Kristyn and the LBC Chorale.
