LBC to Host “The Voice” Contestant in Concert

March 13, 2017

Anthony Evans, a season two contestant of NBC’s “The Voice,” is coming to perform at Lancaster Bible College this spring. The concert, made possible by the Melva S. Mcllwaine Concert and Masterclass Endowment, will feature music from Evans’ 2017 album, “Back to Life,”  - released this February - along with samplings from the rest of his discography, an eight album catalog in total.

Evans, who rose to fame during “The Voice,” is the son of popular Christian evangelist Dr. Tony Evans (yes, the Dr. Tony Evans you’re thinking of!) and brother to Priscilla Shirer, star of the 2015 film, “War Room.” As a former worship leader, Evans’ music takes on a tone that is reflective of his upbringing in the church, incorporating elements of classic gospel music with contemporary Christian music. Believe us – this is a concert you won’t want to miss. If you need proof, just click here to watch a video of Evans performing a number from his newest album.

During the concert, students from J.P. McCaskey High School’s gospel choir and LBC’s own chapel guild choir will join Evans on stage for several songs. “It’s such a thrill to have a talent like Evans come to LBC,” said Dr. Paul Thorlakson, chair of LBC’s worship and performing arts department. “We know this performance will be outstanding!”
