Another Lancaster Bible College graduation – in another state! On May 16, 2025, in Eugene, Ore., 10 graduates from LBC’s Master of Arts in Formational Leadership (MAFL) program celebrated their Commencement through a partnership with New Hope Christian College and New Hope Oahu Church in Hawaii.
Serving as the Commencement speaker was Dr. Wayne Cordeiro (’19), Chancellor of New Hope Christian College, Senior Pastor of New Hope West and founder of New Hope Oahu based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Also celebrating with graduates was Dr. Guy Higashi, MAFL Coordinator in Oregon, and Dr. LaSondra Barnes, LBC’s MAFL and Master of Arts in Ministry Program Director in Lancaster.
Cordeiro has authored 12 books including “Doing Church as a Team,” “The Dream Releasers,” “The Divine Mentor,” “The Irresistible Church” and “Jesus, Pure and Simple.” He also developed the Life Journal, which is being used by thousands of churches to bring people back to the Word of God.
Cohort 4 within the MAFL program concluded its residence in Oregon just before the May 2025 Commencement and included graduates from Alaska, California, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York and Pennsylvania. The class also included one graduate in the Master of Divinity: Formational Leadership program.
During the celebratory week, graduates and their mentors experienced the Oregon State Capital, met with Rep. Darin Harbic, worshiped and prayed on the House and Senate floor, and engaged in a team-building axe-throwing exercise.
Students in Cohort 5 of the Oregon MAFL program will graduate in May 2026, and Cohort 6 will begin their studies in the fall of 2025.
