Admissions Recruiter Fredd Williams is reaching new students for LBC.
In the ever-changing scene of college admissions, one conversation can indeed change the course of a student’s entire life. Fredd Williams, a Lancaster Bible College Admissions Recruiter, understands the weight of his job and is passionate about his interactions with prospective students, seeking to help them find the place where God has called them so they can flourish in college and life. He is deeply committed to this mission and gracefully leads students through the admissions process each day.
Since 2024 when Williams joined the LBC Admissions team, he has helped the college reach 20 new diverse schools, churches and organizations as he shares LBC’s mission and promise with hundreds of prospective students. Williams shared his heart for those he would like to see join LBC’s authentic community.
“Some of my main goals are forging connections with diverse schools, churches and organizations in the communities throughout Lancaster, York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and the wider areas of Pennsylvania and Maryland to attract a broader range of applicants,” he said. “When visiting these places, I focus on first-generation students, low-income students and students of color in areas where LBC is not yet well-known.”
Part of the reason Williams has been successful in reaching new students is because of his commitment to LBC’s mission, but a significant aspect of his success lies in the root of who LBC is as a college.
“One of the first things I tell students is that LBC is not just another Christian college; instead, we are a Bible college that is deeply rooted in the conviction that Christ is real and the Bible is true,” Williams shared. “I often share the love, peace and joy that is felt and lived out on campus. I highlight how the students will be cared for individually through programs like the Ally Center and C3 (counseling center) as well as by faculty and staff. The resources offered by LBC are extremely important for students to come and transition well into college life and a new community.”
When meeting with prospective students, Williams asks them to think about three things:
1. What do you need externally?
2. What do you need internally?
3. What affirms the calling or field of study you hope to pursue in college?

By asking these deep questions, he hopes to encourage students to think about what they want their college experience to look like and how Lancaster Bible College may be a good fit for them.
“I listen to the students and parents to hear and discern their needs,” Williams said. “I ask the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct me in what to say or do. Each interaction I have is personal to the students and their supporters.”
Williams will share his heart for students and for LBC by speaking in the Feb. 12 campus chapel gathering, with a message focused on kindness. This blends well with his approach to recruitment because he believes that kindness goes a long way. Williams loves people, and he truly wants every prospective student he encounters to thrive in their gifts and calling from the Lord.
“As a father, I’d send my children to LBC,” he remarked. “As a preacher of nearly 30 years and now a pastor, I see that our churches need biblically literate people to both attend and work in ministry.”
