The Chargers posted an impressive 3.767 team GPA, earning a spot among the NFCA’s elite academic programs.

The NFCA also announced that 9,199 collegiate student-athletes captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2024-25 academic year, recognizing outstanding academic achievement across all divisions. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,565 student-athletes earning a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Lancaster Bible College also landed 12 softball student-athletes on the NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list: Maddison Atkins, Carleigh Cleland, Phoebe Clemens, Kylee Cole, Riley Danko, Maggie Kwiatkowski, KariAnn Mecke, Keira Price, Brigietta Rendon, Ila Rowatti, Alyssa Taylor and Danielle Wilson. LBC’s softball team is lead by Head Coach John Clemens.

As the Chargers’ spring season closed last year, additional academic honors were bestowed upon the student-athletes on the softball team, including the following:

  • The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) included LBC softball on its Scholar Teams list. In order to be eligible, teams must have a minimum GPA of 3.40 for all combined student-athletes. Softball finished with a 3.75 GPA. On the individual side, the NCCAA also named four members of the softball team to the 2025 Softball Scholar-Athlete list.
  • The College Sports Communicators (CSC) included LBC softball on its 2024-25 Academic All-District Team, which recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Five individual softball players were also honored.

Across all Charger athletic teams for 2024-25, LBC received the United East Institutional Academic Excellence Award for posting an impressive department-wide GPA of 3.50, the highest among the 17 conference institutions. The award is presented annually to the institution whose student-athletes participating in United East-sponsored sports achieve the highest collective GPA.

“We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for their academic achievements off the field,” said Director of Athletics Bryan Curtis at the time of the honor. “This recognition reflects their commitment to excelling in all areas of the college experience. I’m also grateful to our coaches and staff, who continually invest in our student-athletes’ academic and personal success.”
