LBC Students Embark on Exciting & Impactful Internships

by LBC Marketing

Lancaster Bible College students are among the millions of college students each spring and summer who immerse themselves in internship experiences. Not only do these jobs reinforce what they are learning in college, but they also open doors to future career opportunities and allow LBC students to share their faith and “proclaim Christ by serving Him in the Church and society,” as the LBC mission states.

Here are just a few LBC students who are representing Charger Nation through internships.

Taylor M. | Criminal Justice

This past spring, Taylor (’25) interned with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office in Victim Witness Services, which provide victims and witnesses of crimes with advocates to walk alongside them throughout the court process as well as provide information and support.

“I was able to shadow and work with their advocates as they escorted victims to court, equipped witnesses for trial testimony, provided resources for support post sentencing, and so much more!” Taylor said. “I was able to apply much of what I learned in the classroom at LBC to the work that I did at my internship. It was amazing to get to tangibly see what we talk about within the walls of a classroom be displayed for me in real-life scenarios. Additionally, my knowledge was further expanded through working with the advocates and attorneys and getting to ask questions about their firsthand experiences.”

Taylor especially enjoyed meeting new people and making connections in her career field. “The people at my internship were so welcoming and fantastic to work with and made me eager to learn more. The lessons that I was able to learn hands-on from this were eye-opening and gave me a whole new perspective, so I am so grateful to every individual that allowed me to shadow and learn from them.”

Audrey V. | Business Administration

Audrey (’26) is spending her summer at Sweet Arts Bakery in Geneseo, N.Y., where she’s gaining hands-on experience in small business operations – and enjoying her morning cup of Sweet Arts coffee, too!

From inputting financial data to helping automate a system that tracks inventory and product success, Audrey is putting her classroom learning to work in real time. But the real icing on the cake? Working alongside the bakery’s owner – an entrepreneur who shares Audrey’s faith and business background.

“Having a biblical foundation is so important in the workplace, and I feel that LBC has helped me step into this opportunity,” Audrey shared.

Emily K. | Intercultural Studies

Emily (’25) recently completed an internship overseas, where she spent two weeks in an ESL classroom in China. She enjoyed the conversations she was able to have with the university students, as well as exploring the country and seeing God’s creativity at work.

“Being immersed in a different culture can feel daunting at the start,” Emily admitted, “but I was able to learn so much from the time that I spent in China and with the Chinese people. It was a learning opportunity to be vulnerable and to learn from those who are different than me. I’m so thankful that I was able to meet so many wonderful people and experience so many new things.”

Liana M. | Intercultural Studies

Liana (’27) is one of over a dozen students completing cross-cultural internships this summer, and in May, she spent two weeks in Peru – first in the jungle village of Callanayacu and then the coastal city of Trujillo. She gained hands-on experience helping with VBS, evangelism, building a worship facility in the jungle, serving at a local orphanage, teaching English and much more!

“One of the themes of the trip for me was ‘family in Christ,’” Liana said. “Whether we were crashing at the house of some believers in Miami for the night when our flight was canceled or meeting the brothers and sisters in Callanayacu and Trujillo, we were overwhelmed by the love of fellow Christians. What an incredible joy it is to step off a plane into an unknown country and be received by the family you didn’t know you had!”

Liana hopes to use her Intercultural Studies degree from LBC to pursue cross-cultural ministry more effectively. “Diving into another culture is fascinating in itself,” she explained, “but my classes at LBC have given me the tools to better understand and engage with the complexities of culture and meet others in the context they’re from in ways I couldn’t before. LBC has enabled me to verbalize the things I’m learning and better process the highs, lows, and buffalos of missions.”
