WOW – Welcome & Orientation Weekend

Friday–Monday, August 22–25, 2025

WOW Weekend kicks off the year with highlights for both residents and commuters from Friday to Sunday prior to classes. Students journey through the weekend with their Foundations class and Foundations mentors. Other highlights include the Luau, going as a Foundations class to a faculty or staff member’s home for games and dessert, and Saturday morning worship.

Foundations Class (LBC 100)

LBC 100 is a core class for all incoming students in the fall semester that is highly relational and biblically integrated. In the spring semester, students will take LBC 101, Living in God’s Story, built around LBC’s commitment to education that is Biblical, Formational and Missional.

Department Retreats

The department retreats are a key component of the first year experience, held the second weekend of the semester, and a beloved tradition for both our faculty and students. Professors are committed to relational education at Lancaster Bible College and spending quality time getting to know each student. From hiking to playing arcade games to bonfires, departments build a memorable weekend for their students!

Spiritual Formation

Spiritual Formation is a key emphasis within our biblically-integrated campus. Within the first two weeks, students will experience chapel, get to visit with local pastors at the church fair and sign up for student organizations with a spiritual emphasis, like the Student Evangelistic Fellowship or Student Missions Fellowship (link to clubs and organizations). We encourage commuter students to plug in, as all clubs and organizations welcome both residents and commuters. Resident students will also have the opportunity to meet with their section for regular Bible study and prayer.
