Educational Background: Kurt graduated with a BA in Psychology from Albright College. He obtained in MA in Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary in 1988. He completed his MSW at Temple University in 2003.

Teaching Interests: He has taught Intro to Social Work, Social Work Methods, Organizational Social Work, Human Development, Child Welfare, Addictions, Practice with Individuals, Practice with Families and Groups, and Practice with Organizations and Communities.

Experiences: Kurt started his social work career as a relief counselor through a private foster care agency. He worked in the field of gerontology as a case manager for the Office of Aging in Northumberland and Lancaster Counties. From 1991-2012 he was employed in the field of Child welfare as a caseworker, supervisor and Director of Social Service. He retired from his county job in 2012 to join the LBC team to lead the charge for accreditation of the Social Work Program. Kurt has been a consultant/trainer for the University of Pittsburgh in the field of Child Welfare since 2003. He has an interest in orphan care work throughout the world traveling to Zambia, Ecuador and Zimbabwe through his church and leading a team through LBC.

Family Life: Kurt is married to Lora who is also a social worker in the field of Early Intervention. They have 2 teenage children: Kamryn and Logan. The entire family is active in their home church Calvary Church.
