Educational Background: Ling was an international student from Hong Kong. She attended Houghton College for 2 years and went on to complete her B.A. in Sociology at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY-Buffalo). Ling earned her MSW degree at SUNY Buffalo, School of Social Work in 1996. She obtained her PA Social Work license in that same year.

Teaching Interests: Ling places great emphasis on evidenced-based social work practices in her teaching. She believes this approach to teaching inspires students to think critically and connect research with practice. Ling is teaching Social Work Research Design, Diversity in the Cultural Environment, and Human Behavior in the Social Environment.

Experiences: Ling has been the congregational counselor at Elizabethtown BIC church the past seventeen years, providing free counseling services to the community. She is also active as a speaker providing seminars in the following areas: racial reconciliation, marriage enrichment, parenting, social justice, and understanding the poverty culture.

Family Life: Ling has been married to Dan for twenty-four years. They have 2 teenage daughters: Erica (17) & Elaina (13). The family is active in their home church Elizabethtown Brethren In Christ Church.
