The Lancaster Ally Center site offers one-on-one in person writing, strategic planning, content-specific academic coaching sessions. Rotating topical workshops, an extensive collection of print resources, and occasional community homework gatherings are available in person.

The Washington, D.C. Ally Center site facilitates personal academic coaching. Topical workshops are offered quarterly in addition to the annual Writing Boot Camp.

The Philadelphia Ally Center site offers mentoring for writing, planning, and content-specific academic coaching. Additionally, there are assorted English Brush Up (Writing Boot Camp) and skill-building workshops offered for students and instructors.

The Accuplacer test is a tool used after admission to the College to determine placement into LBC’s writing curriculum. The test is administered by the Ally Center. For more information on the Accuplacer and how to prepare, click here.
You will need to know your LBC username and password, the course you’d like to meet for, whether you would like an online or in-person appointment, and either a 30-or 60-minute appointment.
Yes, visit our scheduling page and log in to view your upcoming appointments. Simply click on the “X” next to any appointment to cancel it. Please cancel the appointment no less than two hours prior to its designated start time.
Yes, first cancel your existing appointment following the steps under the “Can I cancel my appointment?” FAQ; then, schedule another appointment at a convenient time.
You may have up to three appointments in a week (not including study groups).
Your professor may require you to attend a Writing Center appointment for a particular assignment.
Your professor may require you to attend a Writing Center appointment for a particular writing assignment. Please note that your professor may designate a progress requirement to be completed before the session. The session will consist of a 30- or 60-minute one-on-one meeting with a peer writing mentor to go over your work.
If you have lost your scheduling privileges due to three missed appointments, please contact an Ally Center staff member to discuss regaining scheduling privileges.
