LBC Celebrates Launch of 25 New Online Programs, Officially Welcomes Class of 2026

by LBC Marketing

As a new academic year is underway, Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School is celebrating. The Class of 2026 was officially welcomed in late August, as freshmen and their families moved onto campus, participated in valuable sessions and were introduced to the LBC | Capital community.

Made up of 248 undergraduate students on the Lancaster campus, the new class consists of 173 students from Pennsylvania as well as 75 students representing 17 states; 189 are first-time freshmen and 59 are transfer students.

Classes began Aug. 29 for the 175 resident students and 73 commuting students, with the top majors for this new class including Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Criminal Justice and Social Work.

Classes are also underway for LBC | Capital’s additional locations and levels, including students at the Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia sites who are engaging in hybrid and online programs, along with seminary and graduate school students as well as students earning degrees completely online across the country and around the world.

In the online education realm, LBC | Capital set an ambitious goal in January 2021 to offer 35 total online programs by the end of the 2022 calendar year. With 10 existing online programs at the outset of the goal, college leadership knew that online learning was changing the educational landscape, especially after a year marked by a global pandemic that put millions of students of all ages in front of computer screens rather than in classrooms.

It was a significant undertaking for a college that had spent the first 80 years of its existence excelling at offering in-class education on a beautiful 103-acre campus in the heart of Lancaster County.

LBC | Capital’s 10 existing online programs at the outset of the goal included bachelors degrees ranging from Biblical Studies, Business Administration and Communication to Criminal Justice, Healthcare Management, Marketing and more.

By the fall of 2021, five more online masters programs were added for a total of 15: Christian Care, English as a Second Language, Formational Leadership, Social Work and Special Education.

That spring, the addition of a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, Master of Arts in Ministry and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree brought the total to 18 online programs.

And this fall, the college’s momentous goal was met—several months ahead of schedule—with the launch the following new fully online programs, bringing the total number to 35:
