Before Applying

Before you apply to LBC, we want to let you know exactly what credits you can expect to transfer! Some of our majors, like Biblical Studies, are more ideal for transfer students, as they are designed with more elective credits.

To start a transcript evaluation, fill out our transfer inquiry form OR email your official transcript to admissions and include your name, desired major and name of the college you’re transferring from.

After Receiving the Transcript Evaluation

The next step is to apply! Transfer students can apply using our traditional undergraduate degree application and selecting “transfer” on the form.

What to Submit After Applying

Transfer students will work with an admissions counselor, who’s trained to help them transition here smoothly. The following documents are needed for transfer students:

High School Transcript

College Transcript – 15 transferrable credits

Autobiography

Spiritual Life Reference

Scholarship Profile

Lancaster Bible College’s Transfer Policy

The college accepts credits from accredited institutions of higher education and from other institutions of higher education that have academic standards comparable to LBC.

  • The academic requirement is a GPA of 2.0 for all previous college work.
  • Transfer credit is granted for coursework for which you received a minimum grade of “C” and that find a parallel in course requirements in your LBC program of study.
  • If you want to know how many of your credits will transfer to LBC, send an unofficial copy of your transcript for credit evaluation to the Admissions Office.

FAQs About Transferring

Am I considered a transfer student?

A transfer student is any student who has attempted and passed at least 15 transferable credits at another institution.

What are the transfer requirements?
  • Transfer students complete the same application as traditional students. In place of SAT scores, transfer students must submit their college transcript, reflecting 15 transferable credits. Transfer students are also asked to submit a transfer reference from staff or faculty at their current institution.
  • Transfer students should have a minimum 2.0 GPA, but some majors may require higher.
Do transfer students qualify for scholarships?

Yes! On top of the scholarships that both traditional students and transfer students are eligible for, we also offer a scholarship, specific to transfer students, based on GPA.

Do you accept CLEP tests?

Yes! You can transfer College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams and Adavanced Placement (AP) exams for credits at LBC. For more information, contact our registrar’s office.
