Calling LBC Alumni—Interested in Getting Back to Class? Audit a Course!

by LBC Marketing

Hey Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School alumni! Did you know that graduates can still take courses at their alma mater, even if they’re not necessarily seeking another degree? One of many valuable alumni benefits is the ability to audit one course per semester through LBC | Capital. As long as there is space in the classroom and the professor permits alumni to audit the course, LBC | Capital graduates are invited to join. The only cost is the Student Service Fee.

Alumni who audit a course receive LBC credentials to access email, the library and the college’s learning management system, Canvas. Alumni who audit a course do not earn credit or a grade for the course and are not required to submit written assignments or take exams. If the attendance requirements for the course are met, the course audit is noted on transcripts with the designation of “AU.” Alumni who wish to complete assignments and take exams should arrange with the professor to confirm that he or she is willing to grade them. Professors are not required to grade the work of class auditors.

Alumni may audit classes from within or below their current degree level or highest degree level earned. For example, an alumnus with a bachelor’s degree may audit a bachelor’s degree course but not audit a master’s level course.

To take advantage of this benefit, contact registrar@lbc.edu., who will provide a list of available courses and help alumni sign up.
