Erick Hershey began film, TV and video production studies as early as high school, before delving into traditional 16mm filmmaking and animation in college at the University of Miami, and video and stop-motion animation studies at FAMU (the National Academy of the Performing Arts) in Prague, Czech republic. As a graduate student, he taught undergraduate camera, animation stand, and optical printing labs, and continued teaching ever since. Erick has taught video, film, animation, and art fundamentals courses at 6 colleges across the country. His work has included feature film, TV commercials, and commissioned animations and video ranging from educational media to corporate web content. His passion in the field is creative narrative filmmaking, and his classes highlight the importance of story, character, and pacing.

Erick’s career has reached past the cameras, into many other realms of live entertainment venues. He has performed his own award-winning magic act across the nation for over 35 years, and has created scenics in studios and shops from coast to coast. He has built, carved, mechanized, and painted sets and props for theatres, amusement parks, cruise lines, operas, television, and museums. He is currently the Set Designer for Musical Theater at Hempfield High School. Erick lives in Landisville, PA, with his wife and their 2 sons.
