Steve Yates, PhD

Steve has over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in technology, administration, and making business decisions. He started out serving in the world’s finest Navy, working on telecommunication systems and learning global logistics. After the Navy, Steve worked for IBM and then as a database architect for Prudential. God opened the door for full-time ministry, where he served as a Minister of Administration at First Baptist, Dade City, Florida.

Currently, Steve serves at Calvary Church as Pastor of Connection Ministries, overseeing the IT department (help desk, infrastructure, and database operations), the church ministry database (Church Community Builder), Human Resources, the church library, and serving on the discipleship team to help connect people to Calvary Church in volunteer or learning environments.

At home, Steve has three kids who are all married and live in the local area. He has a beautiful wife of 30 years, loves running, reading, and growing fresh fruits and vegetables, and has a chocolate lab. They have five grandkids, including one set of twins.
