As part of “Weekend of Welcome” festivities to kick off the 2023-24 academic year at Lancaster Bible College, new freshman and transfer students had the opportunity to meet representatives from 20 area churches during LBC’s annual Church Fair.
LBC Campus Pastor Rev. Timothy Torres shared that the college is committed to helping students find churches where they can engage, serve and worship—in additional to the spiritual growth they experience at LBC.
“Lancaster Bible College has a vibrant faith community, where we learn from each other as well as pastors and local ministry and organization leaders during chapel gatherings three times per week,” Torres said. “But outside of chapel, which is an integral part of who LBC has been over our 90-year history, it’s crucial that our students are also plugged in and engaged with one of the many local churches that call Lancaster County home.
“There is no substitute for worshipping with believers in our community at large and learning even more important life lessons and biblical truth from our community’s very capable pastors,” he added. “The annual Church Fair during our Weekend of Welcome is one way we can introduce students to local churches where they can find a place to call their church home, not only on Sunday morning but also in serving capacities.”
