Engage with LBC | Capital on the New Master of Social Work Degree

by LBC Marketing

LBC | Capital is in the pre-candidacy accreditation process of a new Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. The fully online master’s degree at LBC | Capital will position graduates to serve in leadership roles in the fields of social work and professional ministry.

Slated to start under a cohort model in fall 2021, LBC | Capital’s MSW program will uniquely prepare students to competently practice within a biblical framework.  The LBC | Capital MSW program focuses on the integration of biblical truth, equipping students to serve Jesus as advanced practitioners. The blend of online learning and personalized residencies with synchronous (active, engaged) and asynchronous (at own pace) components offers students a flexible and learning-focused education.

“The vision for the MSW program is to equip practitioners who are already in the field with advanced skills so they can be leaders within the field,” said Dr. Kurt Miller, MSW Program Director. “The master’s education really supports a leadership mentality, so our vision for the master’s program is that students can have advanced career opportunities in areas of Clinical Social Work as well as Advanced Child Welfare Practice, which are two specializations within the program.”

LBC | Capital’s innovative MSW program will have options for both graduates of a bachelor of social work (BSW) degree (Advanced Standing, 33 credits) and individuals desiring to enter the field of social work without a BSW degree (Regular Standing, 60 credits). Cohorts are already forming for the Fall 2021 semester.
