Darren Whitehead is a student in Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate Schools’ Doctor of Ministry program. He’s also a husband, father, has penned a few books and he’s the founding pastor of Nashville’s Church of the City, which welcomes 5,000 attendees to worship each weekend. Previously, Whitehead served as a teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago. Now, he’s adding another impressive accolade to his list of accomplishments: he’s co-authored a book with Grammy award winning artist, Chris Tomlin.

“Holy Roar: 7 Words That Will Change the Way You Worship” was released on October 10. In the book, the pastor and singer discuss worship practices in the ancient world and encourage readers to expand their view of praise. Tomlin also gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at how Whitehead’s teachings on worship shaped some of his most popular songs, like “How Great is Our God,” “We Fall Down,” and “Good Good Father.”
