Throughout the 2023-24 academic year, Lancaster Bible College’s 90th anniversary, weekly chapel gatherings at LBC will focus on the theme of “More Than Conquerors” from Romans 8:37-39.
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Weekly gatherings at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays bring the campus community together for worship and biblical truth from a diverse lineup of speakers with a unified purpose to engage Scripture, form disciples and build community.
“The ‘More Than Conquerors’ chapel series centers on the hopeful message of Romans 8:37-39,” said Campus Pastor Rev. Timothy Torres. “It explores how believers can go beyond mere survival and truly triumph over life’s challenges through their faith in Christ. The series delves into the assurance of God’s unwavering love and the transformative work of Jesus, enabling us to conquer difficulties, doubts and fears. It emphasizes that we are not just conquerors, but ‘more than conquerors,’ empowered to face adversity with courage, unwavering faith and the confidence that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Throughout the series, practical guidance will be offered on applying these truths to daily life, fostering resilience and finding strength in our relationship with Christ.”
Chapel is a common time and place where the entire LBC community, both in Lancaster as well as other locations virtually, can gather to encourage one another and receive instruction and challenge from the Word of God. These services are at the core of LBC’s effort to encourage spiritual growth in the life of every student as we fulfill the mission to “educate Christian students to think and live a biblical worldview and to proclaim Christ by serving Him in the Church and society.”
The community is invited to live-stream chapel beginning with Opening Convocation at 9:10 a.m. Aug. 29, then through Nov. 30 until the campus breaks for the fall semester at lbc.edu/chapel.
